The use of adhesives, solvents and paints is at your own risk. This applies to both your health and the way you use these products.
Make sure that you ventilate the space sufficiently and use protection for your skin (gloves), eyes (glasses, if splashed) and protection of nose and mouth in case you use spraypaint.
Take the right precautions (gloves etc.)!
Preparing the paint surface
Make sure the leather is as clean as possible. possibly cleaning it with water and a little nature or cleaning vinegar (uncolored).
Application of the paint
Apply the Leather Dye with a paintbrush (good quality), dauber, air brush or evt. spray can (we do not recommend the latter). We often use a dauber or a sponge for the larger parts. You can dilute the product with water if necessary. After painting, remove the paint that remains on the surface with a soft cloth. Rub the leather firmly. Repeat until you achieve the desired result (the effect darkens per layer). Be careful with too much product on your leather work.
After-treatment of the paint surface
After painting, remove the paint that remains on the surface with a soft cloth. Rub the leather firmly. In the case of Eco-Flo products, we strongly recommend using Eco-Flo finishes. Fiebing's (and other brands) are often not water-based and can therefore detract from the Eco-Flo paint. We recommend Eco-Flo Super Shene, Satin Shene or possibly Carnauba Creme. Personally, we always choose Super Shene or Satin Shene.
*Eco-Flo indicates that some finishes can pick up something of the color and accidentally smear over other parts (where you don't want that color). Either to make sure you don't get stains on colored backgrounds, or colored stamping (figures, animals, decoration, letters etc.) it's best to first finish on the colored parts separately so that these colors are encapsulated. Then you can give me a sponge to cover the entire surface with a finish.
*Eco-Flo indicates that you can clean the paint with soap and water. This is at your own risk! It could damage your learning project.
